In Islam, Iblis is the name given to the devil or Satan. He is believed to be a jinn, a supernatural creature made of smokeless flame, who was created by Allah (swt) alongside other jinn and humans.
According to Islamic teachings, Iblis was among the angels who were ordered to prostrate to Adam (peace be upon him) after he was created by Allah. However, Iblis refused to do so out of pride and arrogance, believing that he was better than Adam because he was created from fire while Adam was created from clay. Due to his disobedience and arrogance, Iblis was expelled from Paradise and became a sworn enemy of Allah and humankind.
In Islamic theology, Iblis is believed to have the power to whisper evil thoughts and temptations to humans, leading them astray from the path of righteousness. However, it is also believed that he has no power over those who seek protection in Allah and strive to live a virtuous life.
Muslims are therefore advised to seek refuge in Allah from the whisperings of Satan and to constantly seek His guidance and protection from evil influences.
